Random topic: Must have add on's for Mozilla Firefox

My favorite web browser is Mozilla Firefox, I think it's faster than internet explorer and it had the whole Tab browsing feature way before IE had it. Well anyway if you are a Firefox user, I suggest you get acquainted with the "add-ons" function under tools menu in Firefox. Sure you could put some cool skins on your Firefox and make some changes to the appearance to personalize it and make it look cool. But the Add-ons function makes Firefox better and more convenient than it already is. There are over 5,000 add-ons and on the site they provide you with reviews, ratings, and explanation of your various choices.

SOOOOoooo Here's my list of must have add on's for Mozilla

1. SkipScreen
Don't you hate it when you go to download something from one of those file hosting sites like zshare and you have to wait 60secs before to can download whatever file you need. Well SkipScreen basically allows you to skip that waiting time period, pretty good deal.

2. Forecastfox
Well based on the name its kind of obvious that this is for weather. its convent to have live weather updates from www.accuweather.com on the bottom of your browser's window they give you severe weather alerts, current temperature, and the following two days expected weather. When you click the 5 you are sent to the AccuWeather's 5day forecast. Pretty useful and convent so you don't have to lift a finger to figure out the weather while your searching the web.

3. TwitterFox
If you use twitter and don't have tweetdeck installed on your computer then TwitterFox would probably be enough for you. TwitterFox allows you to update your status, to see your recent tweets, gives you the option to retweet, reply, you can see the tweets you were mentioned in, an direct twitter messages. Much more convenient than going to the actual twitter site.

4. TinyURL Generator
With a quick and simple click of a small link looking icon at the bottom of your browser the current page in your window is copied and ready to be pasted anywhere you may need it. Great for twitter since you only have 140 characters for a tweet. Some website links are long and ugly this app shortens them so they look like this: http://tinyurl.com/*****
5. IE Tab
Sometimes when you go to certain sites in Firefox it doesn't work how it should. I noticed that most of the time these sites just don't like Firefox and prefer internet explorer. So this add on allows you to right click and view the page in an IE tab within Firefox. Much faster than looking for IE(especially when you probably deleted it because Firefox is great lol). You can also add these stubborn sites to a list that every time you go to them they open in IE.

A rant from a wanna be autoblogger :-)

I'm kind of upset at at the U.S auto industry because they waited so long to get with the times that when they started making a decent amount of good vehicles/vehicles they should have been making for years. The problem is they make cool cars when people do not want to spend money how they used to, and most people can't spend money like they used to. I mean GM has pretty good full size crossovers in the Acadia,Enclave,Outlook, and Traverse quadruplets. I rented a GMC Acadia in the spring of 2007 for that 7 hr trip from Potsdam to NYC, and its a nice car. It seats about 7 comfortably, seats fold down nicely, leather was better than what was in my dads trailblazer EXT; seemed to lug around the same amount of stuff as the EXT while the interior was miles ahead of the trailblazer. The jeep handled nice and the v6 was smooth, plus had some balls (275hp and 251ft-lbs), handled the mountain roads with no problem, never felt nervous in the twisties, wasn't a task to drive; in fact, the jeep was extremely easy to drive and the ride was nice. No complaints, when I returned the car to Alamo, I turned to my dad and said, "So when are we going to trade in the trailblazer?"

But GM is so stubborn that they continued to water down their offerings, what is the point in having basically the same car in different sheet metal sold under 4 different companies? Two- OK, three- they are pushing it, but four is a bit much. They needed to make their brands each have their own identity, Pontiac sporty mostly RWD, NO PRETEND SPORTS CARS(sorry g5 and g3), Chevy the "grass roots" we have everything brand, Buick for old people(lol), the enclave is hot though, Cadillac for Luxury, Saturn for the "youth". The youth didn't really need a 7 passenger so the outlook wasn't necessary (especially when the clones were priced very closely). GMC, in my opinion didn't even need to exist. Pretty much everything you could get in GMC, you could get at Chevy so why not just have Chevy. Or, if they decided the needed to keep GMC around, just get rid of all the trucks from Chevy. When one tries to do everything, they do nothing well. Especially when they expect "brand engineering" to sell cars. We have the internet; the public can do research for themselves and don't have to completely rely on salesmen who more than often don't know more than the average consumer about cars (one salesman told me that he had a grand prix GTP supercharged and never put premium in it, when I said gas prices are kind of high I don't want a car I need to put premium in). We have the SPEED channel, Spiketv, and CarandDriver that share information with us.

GM really frustrates me, especially when their foreign divisions have cars that the American public would love at home (Ford is guilty too, Ford Falcon XR8 and the focus RS comes to mind). Then they take so long to get with the trends, when Nissan released the 350z, Ford brought the mustang back, Chrysler had the Charger/300/Magnum, Mazda had the rx8. Then, here GM comes late to the sports car party with a holden Monaro with fake hood scoops and called it a GTO, the "revived" GTO was a hot car but it wasn't a GTO. At least change the body so it pays some homage to the classic GTO's. Then they come out with the G8 when gas prices were crazy, and everyone that wanted a large V8 4-door sedan that was decently priced or American, bought a 300C or Charger R/T. Now they are planning to kill the G8 plus GM is in the process of killing Pontiac; damn could they at least wait for me to graduate from college and get a good job so I can afford to get a brand new G8 aka poor mans M5.

Since its a road trip, how about some highway music

So I logged onto Facebook the other day and a couple of my friends were discussing the Denver-LA series, so I was bored so I decided to be nosy and go on my boys page (Whats good Sha-liek and CJ) . Well this dude happens to be part of a upcoming crew of artists (Hiphop/Rap) that goes by the name of the Demevolist. So after minding other people's Facebook business I decided to check out the Demev blog. Everyone knows that when you take a road trip it's a must to have some tunes in the car, fortunately they have an artist that goes by the name B/A and he has a mixtape out called Highway Music, (My type of title) I had to check it out on the title alone. I didn't get a chance to listen to the whole album, but you can just follow the link at the end of the post and download it and check it out. The first song I heard off the mixtape is called Go Harlem!, I think its a tuff tune, maybe y'all should check it out.

P.S If you're not into hiphop don't knock it until you give it a chance, I was never into rock, but I know all the words to a couple songs in rock band(I was semi addicted for a couple of months lol) and on my page you might get introduced to songs and genres that you never heard of and might enjoy(huge fan of reggae, dancehall, calypso, and soca).

From New York City to The North Country

Everytime I make the trip between home and School I have to go through about 7 hours of driving or 6.5 if your lucky(Wheter it's torture depends on the weather, passengers, and traffic). Its an interesting trip (7 hours is a long time to be driving and you can do some real good thinking durning that trip), especially starting from the bright lights in the big city, to no lights in the north country(LOL).

Basically once you pass Albany, NY civilization as I grew to know it pretty much ends. Thats not necessarly a bad thing as many may assume. The air is fresher, the scenery is better, most people are less stressed, and the feeling you get up here is just different. Sure being from the city, the convenience of going up the block to the bodega(corner store) to get your quick fix of snacks and drinks is out of the question, you have to look to your nearest gas station for that in the North Country. In upstate New York, you don't need to find some state park to sit down on some grass, in the city, most of the time you're met with a "Keep off grass" sign anytime you see grass. Honestly sometimes this whole area feels like your living in a huge park, complete with all the deer and skunks you want. When the weather is nice, its a great chill out place, mountain biking, hiking, swimming in the lakes, and in the mountains you see the log cabins that you see in movies. In the winter it's skiiing, snowboarding, and sledding season. Mountains of snow in temperatures that are well below Zero, but if your not afraid of change or the cold(and it gets pretty damn cold) and want to experience something different which you probably never experienced before or want ideas of where to place your vacation home, come and visit the North Country- it's pretty decent.
